DATABASE ENGINEER

Your challenges?
- Design, implement, and maintain database solutions in a cloud environment, primarily using Terraform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Manage and optimize SQL databases, with a strong focus on Postgres.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure efficient database operations and data consistency.
- Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance improvements.
- Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including schemas, configurations, and procedures.
- Automate database-related tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in database engineering.
What do we expect from you?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Specific experience with Postgres database administration.
- Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Knowledge of cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Understanding of database security principles and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.
- Familiarity with other database technologies (, MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL).
- Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Scripting and automation skills (, Python, Bash).
- Certification in GCP or relevant cloud platforms is a plus.
