Your role
Are you passionate about cutting-edge research in Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence? Our
research group CVI2 - Computer Vision, Imaging and Machine Intelligence, headed by Prof. Djamila
Aouada, is seeking a talented researcher to take on a leading role within an innovative and inclusive
group.
In this role, you will conduct groundbreaking research in computer vision and AI for exciting applications
including space, security, and industry 4.0. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to work closely with
Prof. Djamila Aouada and the team members of the CVI2 Research Group on multiple cutting-edge
research directions.
Our work spans a diverse range of exciting topics, including 3D shape modeling, human-centric
computer vision, and anomaly detection, with regular publications in top-tier venues. You will have the
chance to work on high-impact projects in partnership with leading industrial players such as Artec3D,
Infinite Orbits and LMO, as well as engage in national and international academic and industrial
collaborations.
The candidate should perform the following tasks:
- Shape research directions and deliver results
- Attract funding in collaboration with industrial partners
- Coordinate research projects, ensuring timely and successful outcomes
- Participate in the supervision of PhD students and young researchers
- Contribute to teaching and educational activities
- Conduct and coordinate experiments in our state-of-the-art SnT Computer Vision Lab and Zero G-Lab
- Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of real-time solutions
- Participate in organizing workshops, demonstrations, and community outreach

Your profile
- A PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Robotics, or a related field
- A competitive research record in one or more of the following disciplines: computer vision, machine learning, robotics, aerospace engineering, and/or image/signal processing
- Experience with European, national, and/or industrial projects
- A solid mathematical background
- Proficiency in Python, Matlab, and/or C++
- Proven experience in conducting full-scale experiments
- Project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking abilities
- Experience in strategic planning and research group management is a plus
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English; French and/or German is a plus
