Your role
The Project Manager will collaborate with the Principal Investigator (PI) Prof. Gilbert Fridgen, as well as the Leadership Team in the implementation of the FutureFinTech National Centre of Excellence in Research and Innovation, a strategic, large-scale initiative funded by the FNR and the Ministry of Economy. FutureFinTech aims to strengthen Luxembourg's position as a leading international financial centre by advancing interdisciplinary research on the data-driven transformation of financial services, fostering collaboration between academia, industry and policymakers, and developing the next generation of FinTech expertise.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the PI for the day-to-day management of FutureFinTech with a high degree of autonomy
- Animate and coordinate the FinTech - related research activities at SnT, leveraging synergies across research groups, identifying collaboration opportunities, and ensuring alignment with SnT's overall research and innovation strategy
- Serve as a key liaison with government, academic, and industry stakeholders to strengthen FutureFinTech's ecosystem and international visibility
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration within SnT and with external partners to maximise scientific, industrial, and policy impact
- Develop, implement, and monitor National Center of Excellence road map in alignment with SnT's strategic objectives and national research priorities
- Maintain an overview of all ongoing activities in close coordination with the PI, project fellows, and internal and external stakeholders
- Organise and coordinate regular meetings across all levels of the project's governance structure
- Monitor project deliverables, milestones, and timelines, including critical path and risk management, and adjust planning as required in cooperation with the PI
- Coordinate activities among project partners to ensure timely delivery, risk mitigation, and quality assurance
- Develop and maintain a project dashboard and prepare key performance indicators to support monitoring and decision-making
- Produce strategic and operational reports and progress updates for decision-making bodies and funding agencies
- Contribute to project communication and visibility in collaboration with SnT's Communication Team
Your profile
- Proven experience in project or programme management, ideally in a research, innovation, or public sector environment. Goal-orientation, proactivity, and the ability to balance thoroughness and pragmatism
- Own research experience (e.g., PhD degree) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Law, Finance, or Management is an advantage
- Experience in the financial or FinTech sector is a strong asset
- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of building consensus and influencing diverse audiences
- High degree of autonomy, initiative, and organisational skill
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required; knowledge of French, German, or Luxembourgish is an advantage
