About us
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.
Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and environment we live in.
Your role
We are seeking a highly motivated Doctoral researcher to develop a generalized green house gas (GHG) model across all sectors to be integrated with the versatile sector coupled energy model, UCB-SEnMod. This spatial and time resolved combined model will enable a holistic view of direct and indirect GHG emissions, whilst considering possible renewable energy integrations.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish requirements, architect, design and code a GHG module to be integrated with the UCB-SEnMod
- Extract from literature all necessary workflows to be modelled and data that is needed
- Use the combined model to design scenarios which would reduce GHG emissions
- Maintain clear documentation and version control for models and results
- Prepare the module to be used open source
- Data analysis, figure preparation, manuscript and report drafting and presentation of results at international conferences
- Engage in collaboration with internal partners - Luxembourg Centre for Socio-Environmental Systems and external partners such the Trier University of Applied Sciences
For more information contact: Prof. Phillip Dale ()
