Given the ongoing development of our firm, we are currently recruiting for our Technology department Arendt Digital Services:
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimising the organisation’s database systems, primarily Microsoft SQL Server, while supporting the transition to cloud-based solutions such as Azure SQL. This role ensures data integrity, security, and high availability across all environments, providing critical support to application teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances and related components.
Implement and monitor backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Optimise database performance through proactive monitoring and tuning.
Security and Compliance
Manage user access and permissions in line with security best practices.
Apply patches and updates to maintain compliance and minimise vulnerabilities.
Support and Collaboration
Provide technical assistance to development, BI, and application teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and service requests.
Projects and Continuous Improvement
Lead or contribute to migration projects from on-premises SQL to Azure SQL.
Evaluate new technologies and propose improvements to database architecture.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
Prepare regular performance and capacity reports for management.
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in SQL Server administration (including SSRS, SSIS).
Good knowledge of Azure SQL and cloud database solutions.
Expertise in performance tuning and query optimisation.
Familiarity with database security principles and compliance requirements.
Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
