Under the Vice-rector for Partnerships and International Relations, the International Relations Office is responsible for developing and coordinating the international relations and activities of the University of Luxembourg. This involves providing support and feedback to the University management on international issues and concluding international agreements. Key tasks of the Office include, but are not limited to, preparing and assessing agreements with international partner universities, administering and promoting Erasmus+ mobility projects, leading digitalization projects relative to Erasmus+ mobility, administering and promoting staff mobility, coordinating international visits to and from the University, promoting international opportunities for students and staff members, coordinating the EURAXESS Luxembourg network and hosting the initiatives of the University of the Greater Region.

Your Role...

As International Relations Officer for international partnerships you will elaborate and prepare international agreements, as well as conventions with an international focus between the University of Luxembourg and national institutions. You will also participate in university-wide initiatives to raise the attractiveness of the university internationally. Your position will be attached to the International Relations Office (IRO) Team leader. Activities

  • Communicate with, welcome, and build relationships with international partners, including the European Commission, ministries, embassies, foreign delegations, and universities
  • Promote the University of Luxembourg at international events, managing booth logistics, and engaging with prospective students and education professionals
  • Develop and manage promotional content by designing, updating, and ordering promotional materials, as well as crafting unique promotional tools for international events together with the communication department
  • Maintain a dynamic online presence by updating and managing dedicated webpages and social networks
  • Prepare welcome package and draft briefings in preparation of international visits and international missions from and to the University of Luxembourg
  • Organise information meetings for students and staff of the institution, foreign students and develop communication materials
  • Coordinate international booths and international student fairs.
  • Manage budgets for international awards and other event planning by IRO
  • Support International Relations Team Leader in budget management and every day administrative tasks
  • Liaise with and support other members of the International Relations Office as needed

What we expect from you…

  • Master's degree in a field relevant to the position
  • Several years of professional experience in international collaboration
  • Knowledge of the Luxembourg higher education and research sector is considered an asset
  • Experience in internationalisation of Higher Education frameworks such as student mobility, student exchanges, joint academic initiatives is considered an asset
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) and a good command of French. Knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish is considered an asset
  • Team-oriented, diplomatic and able to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Builds strong relationships and navigates effectively with diverse stakeholder groups (both internal and external stakeholders, including financers, students, embassies, ministries, senior management…)
  • Takes initiative in problem-solving discussions, offering solutions and working effectively within team to achieve common goals
  • Articulate and Influential: Convey your skill in expressing ideas persuasively and making a positive impact
  • The position may include travels abroad
