We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the evolution, modernization and continuous improvement of an in-house application to manage the student information management system.

Your role

Working closely with the Product Owner, you will analyse of the existing processes and data requirements to drive continuous improvement of the University processes and procedures by leveraging and improving the capabilities of the student information management system.

Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

• Support the Product Owner to develop a product vision and roadmap
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to understand business needs and translate them into detailed User Stories
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements
• Manage various stakeholders in order to insure efficiency of the analysis process
• Analyze and document business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation
• Ability to challenge business stakeholders in order to simplify and standardize processes implemented in simple solutions

Solution Design and Development:

• Work with the development team to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements
• Create mock-ups of the user interface, collaborate with the UX designer if required
• Ensure the proposed solutions are aligned with business goals and are technically feasible
• Support the development team in story refinement and gather required information during development
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the development team
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team

Testing and Quality Assurance:

• Develop and execute test plans to ensure the application meets the specified requirements
• Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Identify and document defects and work with the development team to resolve issues
• Organise demo, structure the end user documentation and organise training

Your profile

• More than five (5) years of experience in the field of business analysis
• Extensive experience in agile solution delivery
• Experience in working in a product team for an in-house software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, conceptual thinking, and a pragmatic mindset
• Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
• A deep understanding of business processes and technology
• Knowledge of the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and process modelling tools is an asset
• Experience working with UX Designer
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with team members and other IT teams
• Fluent written and verbal skills in both French and English
