Field Support & Automation Engineer (PLC + Robotics Hardware)
Who we are
SolarCleano is an ambitious start-up based in Luxembourg. You will be part of a young and dynamic
research and development team with responsibilities from day one with great freedom to manage
your projects in a fast-paced environment. We specialize in Solar Panel Cleaning Robots that
significantly increase the efficiency of their installations.
We design and build autonomous cleaning robots, combining advanced robotics, automation, and
embedded systems. Our robots operate in real-world industrial environments, and we are expanding
our team to ensure top-level customer support and reliability across hardware and software.
Your role
We are looking for a hands-on automation engineer with strong technical intuition to help us:
- Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems (codesys)
- Support the after-sales service of deployed robots (diagnostics, remote and on-site
- interventions)
- Provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams
- Detect and analyze issues (hardware vs software) quickly and efficiently
- Perform on-site interventions, maintenance, and commissioning
- Communicate clearly with clients under pressure, and report issues when necessary
- Contribute to continuous improvements of both robot reliability and support processes
Required Skills
Must-have:
- Experience with PLC programming, ideally with codesys
- Strong hardware intuition: sensors, actuators, wiring, troubleshooting
- Ability to distinguish between mechanical, electrical, and software faults
- Experience with on-site installations, maintenance, or commissioning
- Ability to travel to customer sites (flexibility required)
- Good communication skills and customer-facing attitude
- Calm under pressure, solution-oriented, and reliable
- Fluent in French and English (spoken & written)
- Driver’s license
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with industrial mobile machines or robotics systems
- Background in mechatronics, automation, or industrial machinery
- Basic understanding of Linux systems and embedded software
