The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.

Your role

• Support practical teaching activities in Chemistry (main focus) and Biochemistry, mainly for the teaching programmes in Medicine and Life sciences
• Prepare daily the practical teaching sessions
• Ensure the maintenance and servicing of teaching laboratories and equipment
• Ensure consumable management and reconditioning of the teaching room and equipment after use
• Perform ordering, inventory updating, cleaning and storage of the equipment
• Contribute to the updating of the teaching support documentation
• Contribute to the general safety and development of the laboratories
• Support public engagement activities requiring practical sessions
• Cooperate closely with and support the teaching staff

Your profile

• Minimal degree: Bachelor in chemistry/ biochemistry or related field
• Previous professional experience as chemistry/biochemistry laboratory technician
• Rigor, autonomy and organizational skills
• Ideally strong expertise in inorganic and organic chemistry and corresponding laboratory techniques
• Knowledge of biochemistry or molecular biology and corresponding techniques is an asset
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures
• Excellent practice of MS Office software and PC management
• Excellent communication and relationship skills
• Excellent practice of English (C1). Knowledge of French and/or German (B1) is an asset
