About the LCSB

The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.
We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. We excel because we are truly interdisciplinary, and together we contribute to science and society.
Your role
- Plan and develop scientific concepts for clinical and experimental research projects with focus, but not exclusively, in the area of neuroinflammation and microbiome research.
- Assist in experimental research and plan and conduct experimental procedures in wet lab in the above mentioned topics
- Analyze and interpret results and data obtained, especially by means of bioinformatics and prepare result report documentation
- Write regularly progress reports, prepare document research projects, contribute to manuscripts from scientific results, prepare presentations for internal and external scientific meetings and grant proposals
- You will conduct research partly autonomously and report directly to the PI and co-workers
Your profile
- MSc or equivalent diploma in natural sciences, preferably human biology, biochemistry or bioinformatics
- Experience in clinical and/or basic research project or study management
- Knowledge of molecular biology and medical (patho)physiology
- Experience in writing papers and grant applications
- Experience in bioinformatics methodologies
- Fluency in English is required. Good level of French and German is desired
