The Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) brings together expertise from the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social and educational sciences. People from across 20 disciplines are working within the Faculty. Along with the disciplinary approach a very ambitious interdisciplinary research culture has been developed.

The faculty's research and teaching focuses on social, economic, political and educational issues with the common goal of contributing to an inclusive, open and resourceful society. The FHSE offers six Bachelor and twenty Master degrees and a doctoral school providing students with the necessary knowledge and high-qualified skills to succeed in their future career.

Your Role...

The PhD candidate will be associated with the Institute of Teaching and Learning, Department of Education and Social Work at the University of Luxembourg. S*he will be part of a team in the dynamic organisational context of a growing, globally connected research university.

The PhD candidate will work with Michelle Proyer on issues related to inclusive education. Potential candidates hold an MA in the field of Inclusive Education (or related fields), knowledge in participatory research matters and a high level of motivation to contribute to the national, international and comparative body of knowledge on school development, inclusive pedagogy.

Responsibilities

  • Independent work on developing a PhD proposal, collecting data, and coordination of publishing activities
  • Collaboration and support of general activities in the field of inclusive education
  • Networking with local and international DPOs and community stakeholders
  • Ongoing training and support in administrative tasks

What we expect from you…

  • MA or equivalent in Inclusive Education (or related fields)
  • Experience in academic research (mainly qualitative/mixed methods)
  • Readiness to collaborate with local and international stakeholders
  • Interest in participatory research approaches
