EHS Junior Engineer

Tasks :
• Support to the implement of a successful and sustainable ESG strategy in the organization,
• Waste management - waste disposal monitoring and cross-border transfers of hazardous wastes
• Notifications of waste transfers with implementation of transport contracts and environmental acceptance,
• Waste reporting – annual AEV reports, the European Register of Waste,
• Environmental protection management: protection of soils and sub-soils, air emissions, noise, waste, chemical products, retention, oil separator, internal and external storage, …
• Fire protection equipment management,
• Management and follow-up of the authorization to operate,
• Management of regulatory periodic controls,
• Follow-up of aspects related to the regulatory monitoring,
Ensure identification of handling equipment,
• Workplaces ergonomics analysis (workspaces exposed to risks),
• Prevent and eliminate injuries and diseases related to the professional environment,
• Research and validation of personal and collective protective equipment
• Follow-up of water pipes, drainage, retention and discharge systems of industrial water.
• Monitor exposure to certain hazardous chemicals,
Assistance and participation activities
• Assist the EHS Executive Leader in charge of the EHS Department to
o Execute, development/implementation/maintenance of environmental and safety management systems
o Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the site safety, industrial hygiene and environmental policies and procedures,
o Develops and conducts periodic safety audits / assessments to evaluate compliance to regulations and facility safety & environmental policies & procedures,
• Assure contractor compliance with applicable safety and environmental policies (person and vehicles),
• Follow-up of accidents and incidents at work and follow-up of actions plans to reduce/eliminate the risks,
• Assist production engineers in case of events related to Safety and Environment,
• Check that EHS requirements are integrated in all EHS and non EHS projects, in order to eliminate or reduce risks and comply with legal and company requirements
• Development of safety and environmental training,
• Risks analysis of workstations,
• Maintenance of safety installations,
• Management review participation,
Profile:
• Master’s degree in related technical, scientific, or engineering discipline required and / or equivalent experience,
• 4 – 5 years experiences and knowledges in Environmental, Health and/or Safety field (EHS) and especially in the environment field to prepare for future ESG greenhouse gas response activities and in Engineer/Specialist/Generalist role in the Industry sector in Luxembourg required,
• Having followed an ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) training is a plus,
• Training as designated worker / prevention advisor in Luxembourg is a plus,
• You have a good knowledge in management systems - ISO 14001-2015 and ISO 45001-2017 as well as field audit experience
• Training about “Waste management” in industry is considered as a plus
• Proven experience in CE declaration of conformity of machines,
• Strong organizational skills,
• Skilled use of technology and software packages such as MS Office and Internet/Intranet navigation,
• Critical thinking and project management skills,
• Understanding of regulatory compliance of all local, state, and federal safety requirements (OSHA),
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance of applicable local, state, and federal environmental requirements,
• Good skills with teaching audiences,
• Demonstrate a tenacious drive for results,
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to read, interpret and apply applicable EHS regulatory and legal interpretive text,
• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective actions,
• You may be required to do missions abroad.
• You are fluent in French and English.
