We are looking for an IT Test Manager for one of our clients based in Luxembourg.
- Permanent contract or freelance contract
- Up to 2 remote days per week
- Location : Luxembourg
- Languages : English (fluent)
- Annual gross salary from 90 000€ to 110 000€, to define according to your skills
You will define the test plan and strategy, prepare the test within the test process, and manage the test execution. The test execution includes monitoring and quality assurance. In addition, you will also provides reports on testing progress and results for project and line management.

Test Strategy & Planning
- Clarify requirements and estimate testing efforts.
- Define test strategy (scope, entry/exit criteria, risk-based prioritization).
- Agree on sign-off criteria with stakeholders.
- Establish execution plans and ensure resource availability.
- Maintain test plans aligned with releases, upgrades, and sprints.
Test Preparation & Coordination
- Identify user training needs and support delivery.
- Manage test environments and data with IT Ops and development.
- Align with stakeholders on environment and release/change management.
- Design test cases based on data requirements.
- Integrate project test cases into the regression portfolio.
- Involve requirements engineers in reviews for critical domains.
Test Execution & Quality Management
- Execute and coordinate SIT, UAT, and regression cycles.
- Support and organize UAT with business users.
- Monitor execution and improve processes as needed.
- Coordinate integration testing across systems.
- Track progress and manage defects, changes, and deviations.
Reporting & Governance
- Produce test reports for project and line management.
- Provide status, risk assessment, and go/no-go recommendations.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, tests, and defects.
- Drive continuous improvement of testing processes and quality gates.
- Ensure test budget allocation reflects actual effort (e.g. ~15%)
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree related to the area of expertise and/or at least 9 years of experience in a similar position as test manager with focus on IT & finance
- ISTQB certification (minimum foundation level)
- End-to-end test management experience in financial services, covering strategy, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Extensive experience in large-scale platform migrations:
- Proven track record in planning, coordinating, and managing testing activities for complex platform or core system migrations, including a strong understanding of dependencies between central platform and local systems.
- Expertise in test strategy development and automation: In-depth knowledge of defining and implementing comprehensive test strategies, with a particular focus on regression testing and test automation, ensuring early identification and mitigation of risks and downstream impacts on local systems
- Ability to coordinate across development, requirements engineering, test automation, and business teams in a matrix organization.
- Proficiency with JIRA, X-ray, and CI/CD pipeline integration for test execution.
- Experience working in a cross-functional, multi-team structure where testing serves multiple delivery streams simultaneously (core banking, payments, document management, securities).
