POSTE
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Technician to join a datacenter in Luxembourg.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the datacenter's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient operation of hardware, software, and network components.
You will work closely with engineers and administrators to ensure uptime, resolve technical issues, and support the datacenter's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, and other IT equipment in the datacenter.
Network Support: Assist in managing and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Monitoring Systems: Monitor performance metrics, health status, and availability of systems using monitoring tools. Ensure uptime and escalate issues as necessary.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems within the datacenter.
Server Management: Support the deployment and management of physical and virtual servers (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Cable Management: Organize, label, and maintain structured cabling for power and network connections.
Security Compliance: Ensure datacenter access, data, and systems are secure and comply with internal policies and industry standards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, network configurations, and incidents.
Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent hardware failures and optimize system performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and support teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve technical issues quickly.
PROFIL
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience working in IT support or in a datacenter environment.
Experience with hardware installations, network troubleshooting, and system monitoring.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in server and storage hardware maintenance.
Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and devices.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds).
Ability to lift and install equipment, work in tight spaces, and manage physical components within the datacenter.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
