As a SQL Server Architect (m/f), you will help migrate to new versions of SQL Server as well as Oracle RDBMS and ensure the availability and optimization of the current databases.
Your main responsabilities:
- Support SQL server applications
- Supporting SQL Server components, including SSIS and SSRS
- Design, implement, and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security
- Maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes
- Design and implement migration to Amazon RDS for Microsoft SQL Server
- Develop and enforce database standards and best practices to ensure consistency across environments
- Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to optimize database schema, queries, and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data integrity issues
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patches as needed, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum data integrity
- Design, implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss and minimize downtime in the event of system failures
- Monitor database performance and resource utilization, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact users
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team
Your profile:
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL Server Architect/DBA, with a strong focus on database design, implementation, and optimization
- University degree is preferred
- Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS, including database design, administration, and performance tuning
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server features and capabilities, including stored procedures, triggers, indexes, and query optimization techniques
- Experience with database migration, replication, and high availability solutions such as clustering and AlwaysOn Availability Groups
- Familiarity with database security best practices, including role-based access control, encryption, and auditing
- Experience with SQL server applications and supporting components, including SSIS and SSRS
- Experience maintaining and troubleshooting ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes
- Experience in mentor IT staff and database design
- Experience in assessing and introducing new technologies to improve operation of database infrastructure.
- Experience as a lead worker in a team of subject matter experts of varying capacities
- Experience Amazon RDS for Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Certified: SQL Server certification(s) (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) or equivalent
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification or equivalent is an asset
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
