We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic DataStage Administrator Consultant (M/F) to join our team located in the premises of our client, a European Institution in Luxembourg. The ideal candidate will have experience in the administration of IBM Infosphere DataStage.
Your responsibilities:
As a DataStage Administrator you will be responsible for providing support, managing security, and acting as an interface between development teams and DBAs. This role requires a solid understanding of Linux, database connections, and shell scripting.
Your typical task will be to:
- Provide first-level support for issues related to DataStage, including file system usage, error log monitoring, user creation/configuration, project configuration, and database connection setup (Sybase, Oracle, ODBC).
- Start/stop the server, kill processes, and monitor logs to ensure system stability.
- Follow up on cases with IBM and liaise with product vendors and technical specialists to resolve issues.
- Manage security configurations, instruct DBAs on the configuration of new users in the databases, and conduct quarterly follow-ups on database security for the unit or division.
- Implement enhancements through configuration, shell scripting, and procedures.
Your skills:
IBM Infosphere DataStage Administration:
- Experience with Linux (RedHat 6, 7) including basic kernel configuration.
- Proficient in using TOP/ATOP for performance investigation.
- Skilled in PowerShell and shell scripting for automation.
- Ability to configure and modify database connections.
- Experience with Samba configuration.
- Familiarity with database client tools (director/administrator) and command line instructions.
- Understanding of virtual machines and LDAP integration.
- Familiarity with one of the following databases: SAP Sybase IQ, SAP Sybase ASE, or Oracle 12c.
- Understanding of database security concepts (grants, users, groups), server management, and schema configurations.
It will be considered as an asset if you have:
- Experience managing security via CMC SAP BusinessObjects 4.2 and 4.3.
- Administration of Tomcat servers.
- Experience in installing and patching SAP BusinessObjects.
- Management of universes (UNX) and familiarity with SAP Lumira.
- Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud configuration and basic SAP Live Office usage.
- Experience in providing user support for these tools.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or a related field.
- Previous experience in application administration with a focus on DataStage or similar platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communications with all levels of internal staff, including issue resolution, negotiation of project related priorities, and completion dates.
- Strong analytical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work in an international and dynamic environment.
- Previous experience in a financial environment would be a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
