Application Period: 1 - 31 October
From 1 to 31 October, you will be able to apply for a five month full-time Schuman traineeship at the European Parliament, from 1 March to 31 July.
Twice a year, the European Parliament selects approximately 400 Schuman trainees across a diverse range of fields. Whether your expertise lies in communication, law, multilingualism, international relations, administration, IT, or other domains.

As a Schuman trainee, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Explore the functioning of the EU, with a special focus on the European Parliament.
- Uncover the inner workings of parliamentary operations and play a role in its day-to-day functions.
- Engage hands-on with the EU decision-making process, gaining invaluable practical experience.
- Collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
- Apply and expand upon the knowledge you've acquired during your university studies.
Paid: € 1496 a month in Brussels and Luxembourg - the allowance will be adjusted in other countries in accordance with the local cost of living standards.
You'll have the opportunity to complete your Schuman traineeship at any of the European Parliament's three locations: Brussels, Luxembourg, or Strasbourg. Alternatively, you can opt to contribute to the institution's goals from one of the European Parliament Liaison Offices (EPLO) strategically located throughout EU member states.
Eligibility Criteria
- Aged 18 or older.
- Possession of a university-level diploma.
- Provision of a valid criminal record.
- Proficiency in one official language of the European Union, and a very good command of another official EU language (non-Member States citizens must demonstrate proficiency in English, French, or German).
- Absence of more than two consecutive months of work within an EU institution or body.
