About the SnT...

SnT is a leading international research and innovation centre in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services. We play an instrumental role in Luxembourg by fueling innovation through research partnerships with industry, boosting R&D investments leading to economic growth, and attracting highly qualified talent.

We're looking for people driven by excellence, excited about innovation, and looking to make a difference. If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place!

Your Role...

The UNITE project (UNified framework of faulT identification) aims at integrating the prediction and localization of faults in a continuously evolving software system as pre- and post-fault identification activities. The project involves analyzing the co-evolution of code elements and tests, leveraging these co-evolutionary relationships as a bridge between past and present fault identification activities to construct a unified fault identification framework. The candidate of this project will actively contribute to engineering this integrated framework for fault identification and conduct a longitude study of its impact on software debugging and maintenance within a continuously evolving system.

Beside conducting high-quality research, the candidate will:

  • Carry out the research specified by the UNITE project (such as integrating fault prediction and localization through the co-evolution of tests and code, developing the framework, conducting the service simulation and deploying the service to the community for a user study)
  • Contribute to project deliverables, milestones, demonstrations, and meetings
  • Disseminate results through scientific publications, especially in software debugging and maintenance
  • Conducting joint and independent research in Software Engineering and particularly in Software Debugging and Maintenance areas
  • Provide guidance to Master students and PhD students studying in Software Engineering

The candidate should demonstrate interest in the following publication outlets:

  • High-ranked journals such as the Transactions on Software Engineering and Empirical Software Engineering
  • High-ranked SE conferences such as ICSE and ESEC/FSE

The team you will be working with:

  • Jeongju Sohn
  • Mike Papadakis

Your Profile...

We are looking for a talented and motivated PhD graduates who has:

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Programming Language or related disciplines
  • Documented research expertise in the area of Software Engineering
  • Strong programming and analytical skills
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory
  • Publications in top tier conferences
  • Commitment, affinity for working in a group, and a critical mind
  • Industrial experience in software testing will be considered an advantage
