Your role
We offer an attractive research associate (postdoc) position in the context of FutureFinTech, formerly known as the National Centre of Excellence in Financial Technologies (NCER FinTech), an interdisciplinary initiative addressing the technological challenges and opportunities in the financial sector.
The successful candidate will join the SVV research group, headed by Prof. Domenico Bianculli and will work with Prof. Domenico Bianculli and Dr. Sallam Abualhaija.
The group focuses on the development and design of reliable, safe, and secure software systems, carrying out both upstream activities such as requirements quality assurance and architecture analysis, as well as downstream verification & validation activities, such as software testing and runtime verification. The SVV group is involved in the FutureFinTech through multiple ramp-up projects, focusing on automating change impact analysis of financial regulations, automated compliance checking and monitoring of investment fund activities, completeness checking of content requirements in regulated documents, and formalization of legal provisions to enable program analysis for compliance.
The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Carrying out research in the predefined areas
- Implementing prototype tools
- Managing and contributing to national and international research projects
- Preparing project deliverables
- Disseminating results through scientific publications
- Presenting results in well-known international conferences and workshops
- Providing guidance to PhD, MSc, and BSc students
- Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations
- Participating in proposal drafting to attract industrial, national, and European projects
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated candidate who can work independently and efficiently, is proactive in solving problems, and has strong analytical skills. The candidate should be interested in working in an international team with a multi-disciplinary set of backgrounds, where sharing resources and teamwork is essential. Most importantly, the candidate should be curiosity driven and willing to constantly learn new things!
Qualification: PhD degree in Computer Science, Informatics, or Software Engineering.
Experience:
- Knowledge (supported by a sound publication track record in relevant international conferences and top journals) in a number of the following topics:
- Requirements Engineering
- Natural Language Processing and Understanding
- Model-driven Engineering
- Background in any of the following topics:
- Financial Technologies
- Regulatory Technologies
- Proficiency in a major programming language
Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
