The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg is a leading international research and innovation centre in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services.
We play an instrumental role in Europe by fueling innovation through research partnerships with industry, boosting R&D investments leading to economic growth, and attracting highly qualified talent. We look for researchers from diverse academic backgrounds to contribute to our projects in areas such as: Network Security, Information Assurance, Model-driven Security, Cloud Computing, Cryptography, Satellite Systems, Vehicular Networks, and ICT Services & Applications.

Your role

SnT is reinforcing its communications team and is looking for a creative, organised, and digitally curious individual to join as Digital Communications Officer.

This is a hands-on role with three core dimensions: you'll spend most of your time managing and growing SnT's social media presence (primarily LinkedIn), a significant chunk shooting and editing photo content at events and in our labs, and the rest supporting German-language content and PR work.

You'll work closely with the wider communications team, helping bring SnT's research and people to life online.

Social media (approx. 70%)

  • Manage SnT's social media strategy, calendar, and day-to-day posting, primarily on LinkedIn
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and on-brand way
  • Develop and lead social media campaigns for research projects, labs, and strategic moments
  • Identify and support researchers in creating their own content
  • Cover events, visits, and outreach activities and turn them into timely social content
  • Track performance via appropriate metrics and share insights to continuously improve engagement strategy
  • Stay on top of platform developments and new formats - and experiment with them

Photography & visual content (approx. 20%)

  • Shoot and edit photos at SnT events, lab visits, and signature moments
  • Create branded visual assets for social media across different formats (photo, video, document posts, stories)
  • Maintain a well-organised archive of visual assets
  • Bring a creative eye to how we represent our research and our people visually

German content & PR (approx. 10%)

  • Write, edit, and proofread German-language social media content and communications materials
  • Support German-language press and PR activities as needed
  • Ensure quality and consistency across all German-language outputs

Your profile

Must have:

  • A university degree in Communications, Humanities, Business, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a corporate or fast-paced environment in Luxembourg - managing competing priorities, coordinating stakeholders, and distilling complex information into clear, engaging outputs
  • Good understanding of LinkedIn and social media content strategy; Know-how in storytelling and an instinct for what makes content resonate with different audiences
  • A strong visual eye: able to conceptualise branded content, draft designs, and create compelling visuals independently, experience with Canva
  • Experience in photography and/or video production
  • Fluent in English and German (written and spoken); French or Luxembourgish is a bonus

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with analytics tools and an interest in using data to refine strategy
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or video recording and editing
  • A background in or curiosity about technology, research, or science communication

Qualities to succeed in this role:

  • You can navigate a large, multilingual organisation - you know who to involve, when to follow up, and how to get things moving
  • You're a resourceful thinker: you find information, understand things quickly, and look for creative ways to make content stand out
  • You're as comfortable working independently as collaborating closely with a team
  • You bring positive energy and can connect with a wide range of people - from senior researchers to external press contacts
  • You're secure enough to ask for help, own mistakes, and keep improving

We offer

  • A modern, dynamic university with a personal and inclusive atmosphere. Multilingual and international character. Staff coming from more than 90 countries. Member of The Guild of European Research Intensive Universities
  • An exceptional research environment, supported by skilled staff and high-quality equipment. Strong links to professional sectors and the Luxembourg labour market. A unique urban campus with excellent infrastructure
  • A partner for society and industry. Cooperation with European institutions, innovative companies, the Financial Centre and a wide range of non-academic partners including ministries, local governments, associations, and NGOs

How to apply

Applications should include:

  • Curriculum Vitae, (include links to LinkedIn or any relevant online presence)
  • Short cover letter - make it count, this is your opportunity to tell an engaging story
  • Portfolio or writing samples (optional but welcome - social media content, photography, or writing in German and English)

Early application is highly encouraged, as the applications will be processed upon reception. Please apply ONLINE formally through the HR system. Applications by Email will not be considered.
