Senior Manager Intellectual Property – Inhouse Counsel (f/m/d)

Role Overview 

The position is responsible for providing legal guidance, direction, and support to internal stakeholders of the HARIBO group in the Intellectual Property practice area.  

Main responsibilities: 

• Providing guidance to legal support staff, managing outside counsel, implementing tactics, policies and procedures and activities necessary to establish and maintain the HARIBO group’s trademark, design and patent portfolio, and to prosecute and defend trademark-, design- and patent related claims and cases.  
• Providing legal counsel in support of the acquisition, clearance, adoption, use, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property. 
• Taking the leadership role to actively support the HARIBO group’s quality improvement initiatives. 
• Tracking legal trends and giving recommendations for continuous improvement as appropriate for the HARIBO group. 
• Preparing, negotiating, and interpreting contracts. 
• Preparing and implementing policies and practices in response to legal and regulatory requirements. 
• Preparing and delivering training regarding legal and regulatory requirements. 

Required Profile: 

Education Specifications: 

Fully qualified Lawyer or IP Counsel from any jurisdiction. 

Experience Requirements: 

This role typically requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.  

General requirements:  

• A high level of integrity, excellent judgment and analytical skills, and the ability to identify all relevant issues.  
• Excellent decision making and problem solving skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skills (including good listening skills) and the ability to achieve positive outcomes through influence.  
• The ability to lead and work well in a team environment.  
• Organization, planning and research skills.  
• An ability to provide sound legal advice that is responsive to the business needs of the HARIBO group as well as responds to clients’ needs consistent with corporate strategies and objectives.  
• An appreciation and awareness of the legal/business interface.  
• An ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and fast paced work environment. 
• Business fluent in German and English. Language skills in French will be considered as a plus. 
• Ability to travel occasionally.
