LAM is totally independent from any bank and has a full license for all types of asset classes. Today, LAM serves more than 100+ clients and more than 30 billion euros of assets under management. LAM is connected to more than 30 custodian banks and fund administrators.

To support its Fund Audit and Financial Reporting Services team, LAM is seeking a motivated and dedicated Fund Audit and Financial Reporting trainee (f/m). The ideal candidate should have an interest in investment funds and have analytical and communication skills. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of fund audit and financial reporting.


Objectives of the internship:


Integrate a team whose responsibilities are as follows with the objective to acquire experience in those subjects:


  • Assist in coordinating the audit process for all Funds under management, demonstrating the ability to effectively liaise with auditors, schedule meetings, and ensure timely completion of audit-related tasks.
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with auditors, clients, and other third parties involved in the audit process, showcasing excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Gain proficiency in reviewing and providing input on annual and semi-annual reports prepared under Luxembourg Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Lux GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to reporting standards.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts specific to investment funds, staying updated with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Participate in coordinating and performing the Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) for clients, collecting necessary information and documentation to ensure comprehensive and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments to facilitate a smooth audit request process, demonstrating the ability to gather required information, resolve queries, and ensure timely completion of tasks.


By the end of the training period, the trainee is expected to have gained experience in fund audit and financial reporting processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the overall success of the team.


Candidate Profile:


  • Educational background: Currently enrolled as a student in Finance or Business Administration with a main emphasis on Audit Accounting.
  •  Interpersonal and communication skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, auditors, clients, and internal stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and ability to convey information accurately.
  • Language proficiency: Fluent in both English and French to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders in Luxembourg's multilingual environment.
  • Technical skills: Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with spreadsheets, prepare presentations, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Organizational skills: Highly organized and flexible in managing multiple tasks and priorities. Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and handle shifting project requirements.
  • Team player: Able to work collaboratively in a collegial and friendly environment. Willingness to share knowledge with peers and contribute to the team's overall success.
