Application Management:

• Deploy, patch, and configure core banking systems and third-party financial applications.

Access & Security:

• Manage user roles, permissions, and robust security architecture to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.

Compliance & Auditing:

• Enforce strict IT policies and controls (such as SOX or local financial regulations). Produce audit trails and system logs.

Incident & Problem Management:

• Act as the primary technical point of contact to troubleshoot application bugs, investigate transaction discrepancies, and restore services.

Vendor & Integration Support:

• Work with third-party software vendors to manage system upgrades, resolve API connectivity issues, and manage scheduled maintenance.

Backup & Disaster Recovery:

• Ensure routine backups of financial databases and assist in disaster recovery planning and testing.

Good understanding of:

• Linux system administration
• User and group management
• Filesystem management
• Process and service management
• Network troubleshooting
• Experience configuring and managing sudo rules and privilege delegation.
• Knowledge of Linux patching processes, vulnerability remediation, and system maintenance.

Strong scripting skills using one or more of:

• Bash/Shell scripting
• Python
• Perl (advantage)
• Experience supporting business applications hosted on Linux servers.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools.
• Understanding of ITIL-based operational support processes.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, middleware, and infrastructure layers.
• Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments with change and release management processes.
