Your mission:
As an Airline Operations Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the resilience and efficiency of Cargolux’s global operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining operational stability and executing our traffic program in line with safety, regulatory and commercial priorities.
- Leading decision-making during irregular operations, balancing safety, customer commitments, and cost efficiency.
- Optimizing aircraft utilization and network performance within a 72-hour horizon.
- Managing disruptions by developing and implementing recovery strategies that protect schedule integrity and cargo flows.
- Coordinating across departments (Dispatch, MCC, Crew Control, Network and Ground Ops) to ensure seamless operations.
- Applying regulatory expertise on EASA Air OPS, ICAO, IOSA, ATFM and Eurocontrol processes.
- Monitoring and implementing traffic decisions within a 72-hour window.
- Acting as a senior decision-maker during disruptions.
- Contributing to the strategic evolution of the IACC beyond day-to-day operations.
Essential Requirements For The Position:
You are a decisive, analytical leader who thrives under pressure and can influence stakeholders across a global network. Ideally, you will have:
- 5–7+ years' experience in airline operations control, network control, or dispatch (cargo experience preferred);
- Deep knowledge of EASA, ICAO, IOSA and global operational control requirements.
- A strong understanding of ATFM, Eurocontrol and airspace management.
- Proficiency in IACC systems (AIMS, Lido, SITA Mission Watch, TWC Fusion or similar).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of a second European language would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a team and adapt quickly and effectively to changing conditions.
Preferred:
- Flight Dispatch License / FOO license.
- Air Traffic Control or Flight Operations background.
- Experience in airport ground handling.
- Knowledge of meteorology, aerodynamics, and aircraft performance.
- Experience in technical, crew or fleet planning.
- Familiarity with airline manuals and operational processes.
- Experience in strategic network operations for all-cargo or express carriers.
- Familiarity with SMS processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, permanent position based in Luxembourg.
- A Certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will berequired in case of positive selection.
- Operates in a 24/7 global control environment with rotating shifts. (28-day roster periods, 160 hours per period, max. 48 hours per week).
