Job Title: ASSEMBLER

Reports to: ASSEMBLY TEAM LEADER

The Assembler is responsible for the precise assembly, soldering, wiring, and integration of mechanical and electronic components used in the production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The role ensures that all assemblies meet technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly and Integration

·       Assemble UAV components including frames, motors, wiring, sensors, PCBs, landing gear, and payload systems.

·       Perform fine-pitch and through-hole soldering on electronic components.

·       Route, terminate, and secure cables following engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.

·       Install and secure electronic modules, batteries, communication systems, and structural components.

·       Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as directed from time to time by the line manager that are consistent with the nature of the job as described.

Quality and Compliance

·       Conduct visual and functional inspections of assemblies to identify defects or non-conformities.

·       Verify compliance with work instructions, engineering specifications, and production standards.

·       Complete checklists and production documentation accurately and on time.

Technical Execution

·       Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

·       Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, soldering equipment, and ESD-safe workstations.

·       Escalate technical issues, component defects, or design inconsistencies for corrective action.

Process and Safety

·       Adhere to safety protocols, ESD procedures, and clean-room/controlled-environment requirements (as applicable).

·       Maintain a clean, organised workspace and safeguard tools and equipment.

·       Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies or quality risks.

Qualifications & Experience

·      Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (schematics, diagrams, assembly instructions).

·      Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.

·      Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.

·      Ability to work with small, sensitive components.

·      Reliability, precision, and adherence to established processes.

·      Team-oriented working style combined with accountability for quality outputs.

·      Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.

·      Ability to perform hands-on assembly at a workstation for extended periods.

·      Ability to lift and maneuver equipment or components as required (typically up to 15 kg).

·      Comfortable working in an electronics or workshop environment.

·      Ability to achieve NATO security clearance which is usually granted to nationals from a NATO member country or one of the following NATO Indo-Pacific partners: Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand or Ukraine.

Additional Desirable Attributes

·      Experience in electronics or mechanical assembly, preferably in aerospace, UAV, robotics, or precision manufacturing.

·      Proven soldering skills (IPC standards are an advantage).

·      Experience with drones, RC systems, robotics, or aviation-grade components.

·      Familiarity with ESD protection, IPC-standard soldering, or clean-room protocols.

·      Willingness to support testing, calibration, or field deployment activities when required.
