Function :

Your main mission consists in providing analysis, modelling & simulation services in the area of mechanical engineering. These services shall support product development throughout Client’s different business units. In these areas, the incumbent shall closely collaborate with the design teams, provide guidance based on analysis and be able to actively contribute to mechanical design. Furthermore, the incumbent shall help develop and put in place best practices in terms of product design & verification.

The responsibilities include:

•     Structural analyses of mechanical components and systems, as well as structural and topological optimizations,

•     Dynamic and frequency domain analyses of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems,

•     Mathematical and/or statistical analyses of measuring data,

•     Documentation and validation testing of analyses and calculations,

•     Contribution to mechanical design (CAD),

•     Continuous improvement in terms of modelling & simulation, verification and design processes,

•     Coming up with development ideas and their realization,

•     Pro-actively introducing, documenting and disseminating new technologies and concepts in the technology survey activities of the department.

Profile :

•     Engineer or master level diploma in mechanical engineering,

•     At least 3 years of experience in a relevant field of activity,

•     Ability to work in an English-speaking environment including technical discussions and documentation activities, German, French and Luxembourgish being considered a plus,

•     Solid knowledge in structural engineering & analysis, incl. FEA and know-how of material properties & selection,

•     Analysis tools (preferably Ansys) and scientific programming (e.g. Matlab, Python),

•     Machine components selection/specification/dimensioning,

•     Familiarity with pertinent norms (e.g. FKM, VDI2230, Eurocodes),

•     Basics in mechanical design/CAD,

•     And CAD & PDM tools (preferably Autodesk Inventor & Vault).
